How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Wuthering Waves

Similar to Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves is an ARPG developed by Kuro Games, set in an open-world. The world inside Wuthering Waves is basically a post-apocalyptic one, and players get to pick among a huge roster of characters called Resonators. Considering how Gacha RPGs are, the fast-paced and fluid combat of Wuthering Waves hold its own ground pretty well. Wuthering Waves has dedicated regional servers that you pick when creating your account for the first time.

Why Ping Matters in Wuthering Waves

When compared to Genshin Impact, it becomes quite obvious that the combat of Wuthering Waves is more fast-paced and demanding. The time window for performing perfect parrys, dodges, and echo mechanics is very short and requires precise timing. So if your actions are delayed due to high ping then good luck using any of those mechanics to your advantage. Despite being a PvE game, maintaining your ping below 100ms is very important if you want your experience to be smooth. Though, below 60ms is highly recommended.

Optimal Network Settings

Wuthering Waves allows you to pick the server of your choice when creating accounts. But that is a one-time thing. You cannot switch regions once your account is created and you have picked your character. So, use our tool to find the best server first and then select that region during account creation. If the tool is showing multiple servers with similar ping for you then restart your router and perform the test again.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Troubleshooting Wuthering Waves connection issues: 1) Start by checking if the Kuro Games servers are facing any downtime or not. You can quickly get that info by visiting their official socials and Discord channel. 2) Pick the closest server from your location when creating your account. If you have already created your account on the wrong server then you can email the support to help you switch regions. 3) If you have any VPN application running on your PC or Smartphone then try disabling that. 4) You can always flush your DNS by typing ipconfig /flushdns in CMD. 5) If you are using a Smartphone or a Tablet then try switching between Mobile Data and Wi-fi.

Wuthering Waves Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Wuthering Waves?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 100ms. Pro players typically play at under 50ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 200ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Wuthering Waves operates at Server-based. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
