How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Diablo Immortal

Made by Blizzard in collaboration with NetEase Games, Diablo Immortal, just like it's predecessors, is an MMO with Action RPG elements. The game is set in a period that takes place between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, and continues the same dark fantasy style story and a gameplay style that people like to call Hack 'n' Slash. The game is currently available for both PC and Mobile platforms.

Why Ping Matters in Diablo Immortal

Despite Diablo Immortal mainly being a PvE game, people tend to forget that the game features PvP mechanics and high end Raids. And both of these require players to be avoid mistakes as much as possible. The Cycle of Strife PvP system surprisingly demands insanely fast reflexes and high precision, which is not possible if you have High Ping. High Latency means you will miss your shots, fail your dodges during Boss phases, and possibly ruin the experience of your teammates during Raids. To avoid that, you need to make sure that your ping does not exceed 90ms.

Optimal Network Settings

Switching to a 5Ghz Wifi Router is a wise decision. For complex activities like Raids and PvP, it is best to avoid playing the game on Mobile Data, because your connection can drop any time. If you are going to be doing any activity on Mobile Data, make sure your are getting all the bars on your network.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If you are getting High Ping or facing Lag in Diablo Immortal: 1) Use our ping test tool if you are getting high ping on just the server you are playing on or your ping is high on all the servers. 2) When you start the game, you will get the option to select your regional server subgroup. Make sure to pick the right one. 3) Giving your mobile device a quick restart tend to work a lot of times. 4) Make sure you are not downloading any updates in background.

Diablo Immortal Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Diablo Immortal?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 80ms. Pro players typically play at under 40ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 160ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Diablo Immortal operates at 30Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
