About Rainbow Six Siege

Relying heavily upon teamwork and destructive enviroment, R6 Siege is a tactical shooter from Ubisoft. The game is all about high precision and tactical thinking. R6 Siege X has a tick rate of 60Hz and has 14 global data centers.

Why Ping Matters in R6 Siege

Since R6 Siege X is a 5v5 Tactical FPS, it is quite obvious that the game is bound to require high precsion aim and quick reactions, and you need to have low ping latency for those. High Ping is R6 will cause hit reg issues, and peekers with lower ping will always have an advantage on you. Aiming below 60ms is wise

Optimal Network Settings

You can use our R6 ping tool to check which server offers the lowest ping, then you can edit the GameSettings.ini file of Siege to pick that server. Don't forget to constantly monitor your ping via the scoreboard.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

In case of high ping issues: 1) Start by checking the server status of R6 Siege X/Ubisoft as they might be down. 2) Make sure you are not using a VPN. 3) Try to flush your DNS by typing ipconfig /flushdns inside CMD.

R6 Siege Network FAQ

What is a good ping for R6 Siege?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 60ms. Pro players typically play at under 30ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 120ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

R6 Siege operates at 60Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
