About PUBG: Battlegrounds

One of the first Battle Royale titles to ever exist, PUBG is all about realistic gunplay combined with tactical gameplay. Each match starts with 100 players in a lobby, trying to survive till the end and emerge victorious. The servers in PUBG are 60Hz tick rate.

Why Ping Matters in PUBG

It is common knowledge that if it is BR, then ping is going to be one of the most important factors. PUBG is no different. If you don't want to face hit registration issues, desync uses, and delayed reactions, then you need to make sure that your ping is low. Anything between 60-80ms should be good enough. The lower the better.

Optimal Network Settings

Try to use a wired connection while playing a BR game like PUBG, and make sure you are playing on a low ping server. Enable Network Stats to monitor your ping and check for any type of packet loss. Make sure that your firewll isn't blocking the game.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Connectivity Issues fix in PUBG: Battlegrounds: 1) Instead of letting the game pick your server automatically, select the server with the lowest ping by yourself. If you are not sure which one to pick then use our tool to find the better ones. 2) Disable your Windows Firewall as it might be blocking the game. 3) Make sure you have UPnP enabled in your router settings to avoid Strict Nat.

PUBG Network FAQ

What is a good ping for PUBG?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 60ms. Pro players typically play at under 30ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 120ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

PUBG operates at 60Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
