About Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

With the addition of a brand-new storyline and new movement mechanics, Black Ops 7 is the direct sequel to BO6. From movement tech like Wall Jumping to Omnimovement, BO7 has really proved itself to be the new-age COD title. The Multiplayer of Black Ops 7 features dedicated servers backed by Activision's Demonware Infrastructure and an improved netcode. The game is all about swift movement and quick decision-making.

Why Ping Matters in BO7

It is a known fact that Black Ops 7 features an extremely fast TTK and advanced movement tech. So you have to make sure that your ping is low in order to utilize those features efficienly. Low ping players are always going to be at an advantage in BO7 as the game uses client-side hit detection which then gets validated by the servers. Which means high ping could result in hit reg issues. Aim between 50-70ms for a smooth experience.

Optimal Network Settings

If you are constantly facing packet loss or rubberbanding then go ahead and disable 'On-Demand Texture Streaming' first. Make sure that your network adapter is at max, which can be adjusted from the Windows Power Settings. Don't forget to enable in-game telemetry to monitor your ping constantly.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing BO7 connectivity issues: 1) Consider disabling crossplay and then try playing again. 2) You could have 'Strict Nat'. Anything other than 'Open' or 'Moderate' type NAT will cause connection issues. Put your console in a DMZ to diagnose the issue. 3) If you know how to open ports then you need to open TCP/UDP 3074, UDP 3478-3480. 4) Make sure UPnP is enabled in your router settings. 5) You can also check BO7's server status, as the servers might be down.

BO7 Network FAQ

What is a good ping for BO7?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 50ms. Pro players typically play at under 25ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 100ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

BO7 operates at 60Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
