Latency (Ping)
Latency is the time taken by data to travel between your device and the game server. It is normally measured in milliseconds or ms. The lower the latency, the better your online gaming experience will be.
Tick Rate
Always remember, higher tick rates will always result in more responsive gameplay. It is nothing but the frequency as which the sever updates the state of the game per second. It is measured in Hz, and can vary between 20Hz to 128Hz.
Packet Loss
You experience Packet Loss when your data packets fail to reach where they are intended to. Try to always play with 0% packet loss, as even 1% can cause severe issues like Rubberbanding and Hit Registration issues. You can lower the chance of getting packet loss by using a wired connection.
How to Lower your Ping
Make sure your Network Drivers and Router Firmware are updated
Plug-in your Router/Modem directly to your device using an Ethernet cable for more stability
You can try using a gaming DNS like Cloudflare which is 1.1.1.1 or Google DNS which is 8.8.8.8
You can try enabling Quality of Service, also known as QoS, on your Router.
Always pick the servers that are the closest to your location
Make your bandwidth-hogging apps like your browsers or streaming apps are closed
