How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About For Honor

If you are into Melee-focused action combat games then For Honor is the game you are looking for. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, For Honor is an action game where players engage in intense sword-fights. The game is not 'Just swing your melee' kind of game. You have to be quite startegic when fighting. The best part of the game is definitely the fact that you get to play as historic factions like Knights, Samurai, Vikings, and Wu Lin.

Why Ping Matters in For Honor

For Honor is a PvP game, and one cannot ignore ping in PvP titles. The game features a control system called 'Art of Battle' which requires players to be very precise when parrying attacks from opponents, blocking attacks, and performing counter-attacks. With High Ping you will surely miss your parries and blocks. Also, you will most likely teleport all around your opponent. If by any chance your opponent reports you thinking that your are tryin to get type of advantage using your connection, then the devs might even ban you. Try to keep your ping below 60ms at all cost.

Optimal Network Settings

Just make sure you are not connecting to servers that are too far from your geographical location. Also, check if the apps running in the background of your system are cosuming heavy bandwidth or not.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing Lag in For Honor: 1) The first thing you should do is just restart your router and even your system. 2) Then run our ping test tool to see if you are experiencing high ping on all the servers or not. If you are, then contact your network provider. 3) Try to flush your systems DNS by opening CMD and typing ipconfig /flushdns to clear DNS cache.

For Honor Network FAQ

What is a good ping for For Honor?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 60ms. Pro players typically play at under 30ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 120ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

For Honor operates at 30Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
