About Where Winds Meet

Developed my Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games, Where Winds Meet is an open-world Wuxia ARPG that has both single player and multiplayer modes. A great deal of the game is customizable. Players can customize their character completely by changing appearance, clothing, and physical attributes. Currently, the game is getting quite a good amount of players as there are servers spread all across the globe.

Why Ping Matters in WWM

The combat in Where Winds Meet mainly focuses on martial arts that is extremely fast pased. So you need to have precise timing to carry out perfect parries and execute combos. To make sure that you are being able to do that without disruptions, try to keep your ping within 90ms.

Optimal Network Settings

When creating your character on WWM, on any device, make sure that you are picking the correct server. Use our tool to double-check if you are picking the best server for you or not. Keep monitoring your ping in-game while also making sure that you don't have active downloads or updates in the background. Lower your settings a bit to increase responsiveness.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Troubleshooting connectivity issues in WWM: 1) Do a quick speedtest of your connection to check if the issue is from your end or not. If you see any sort of irregularities, it is best to restart your router/modem once. 2) Make sure your game doesn't have any pending updates. 3) Check to see if the servers of Where Winds Meet are offline or not. If they are, then you don't have any other choice but to wait for them to come back on.

WWM Network FAQ

What is a good ping for WWM?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 80ms. Pro players typically play at under 40ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 160ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

WWM operates at Server-based. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
