About Call of Duty: Mobile

A Call of Duty game on a mobile device does not mean it is not going to be as action-packed as the ones on PC and Consoles. In fact, COD Mobile surprisingly offers a similar experience. The game is available for all Android and iOS devices, and has to be one the most played shooter games on the platform. You get to experience the classic and ever-iconic maps like Nuketown and Crash inside the Multiplayer modes. On top of that, CODM also has a 100-player Battle Royal Mode, similar to PUBG Mobile.

Why Ping Matters in CODM

Call of Duty games have always been shooters with extremely fast TTK (Time-to-kill) and complex movement mechanics. CODM is no different. Whether you are going to win or lose a fight, gets decided with a blink of an eye. Your reaction time is the primary driving factor in this game. If you have high ping then there is no way you are hitting those slide-cancels and sniper shots on time. Half of your shots would most likely vanish in clean air due to network desync. If your ping is not below 70ms then Ranked play is not recommended at all. If you are someone who just likes to chill in casual modes then anything below 100ms should be fine.

Optimal Network Settings

Is the ping on the server you are playing on, low for you? Use the tool above to find that out. If your device doesn't have a flagship SoC then you can try to lower your graphics settings from the setting menu to increase responsiveness. Also, make sure that your Frame Rate setting is set to Max.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing CODM lag/latency issues: 1) Quick start a test on our ping test tool to see how stable is your connection. If you are getting high ping on all the servers then that explains it. 2) Give CODM a restart in order to flush the memory cache stored in the game. This will make the game feel more responsive. Run our real-time ping test to identify connection stability. 3) Ensure that you have Shader Preload enabled in the game settings. 4) It is a wise move to use wired adapter if you are planning to take part in tournaments.

CODM Network FAQ

What is a good ping for CODM?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 50ms. Pro players typically play at under 25ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 100ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

CODM operates at 60Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
