How It WorksWe measure the round-trip time to each server region. Testing uses AWS infrastructure for accurate results.Your ping may vary based on network conditions.
For high-accuracy results, we recommend performing checks during peak hours.

Overwatch 2 is all about using your abilities precisely and tracking your opponents as accurately as possible. For that, having low ping is extremely essential. High ping could result in delayed abilties and disruption in tracking. Try to keep your ping under 50ms for optimal performance.
Since Overwatch 2 autopicks the server with the lowest ping for your connection, hit Ctrl+Shift+N on your keyboard in-game to check which server you are getting put on. Then use our tool to see how much ping you are getting on that server.
Diagnose ping issuse in Overwatch 2: 1) Check if Overwatch 2 servers are down or not. If they are then there is nothing you can do. 2) Simply give your router a quick restart as it might fix the issue. 3) Use the utility tool given above to check if you are facing high ping issues on all the servers, or not. 4) If you are, then contact your ISP. 5) Check if you are downloading anything in the background or not.
If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 50ms. Pro players typically play at under 25ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 100ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.
OW2 operates at 63Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.
Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.
Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
