Ping is extremely important in Marvel Rivals because in most cases you have to aim at your opponents and then use your abilities precisely. They don't just auto-hit your targets. Which means high ping can result is delays in ability usage and missed shots. So you should always aim for anything under 60ms.
Make sure that you are using the best server based on your ping using the in-game server picker. Keep monitoring your ping by enabling the Network Statistics Display option in-game. Try to close useless applications running in the background, as they might be eating your bandwidth. Playing at low graphics settings is a wise decision as it tends to improve responsiveness.

Marvel Rivals operates at 60Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
