How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Aniimo

Set in the massive world of Idyll, Aniimo is a creature-catching game made by Pawprint Studios that is completely free-to-play. The game features a huge open world environment and is packed with RPG elements. What Aniimo does different from other creature-catching games in the market is that the game features a unique mechanic called 'Twinning' that lets you not only capture creatures but also embody them. The game is fully co-op, which means you can freely explore the world with your friends. There is also a PvEvP game mode called 'Operation: Egg Heist' that actually lets you fight other creatures and players at the same time. And the best part is that the game has dedicated servers around the whole world that ensure a smooth experience when engaging in real-time fights and cross-platform activities.

Why Ping Matters in Aniimo

Now, for the majority of the game, when you are just exploring Idyll, catching creatures, and doing missions, ping won't matter that much. Yes, you will lag when playing co-op with friends but that can easily be tolerated. But as soon as you start playing the PvEvP modes, you will start feeling the effect of high ping. With high ping, you will fail your dodges, your ability usage timings will be off, and you will probably rubberband all around the map. These issues can cost you whole games and rare eggs in modes like Egg Heist. Therefore, make sure that your ping is hovering somewhere below 80ms.

Optimal Network Settings

Aniimo region-locks you, so make sure you are selecting the correct region between America, Europe, and APAC when creating your character. Once you have chosen your region, there is no way to change it. When selecting your region make sure you are using a wired connection just to eradicate any chances of disruption.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing high ping issues in Aniimo: 1) If you are lagging in the game, then make sure that you use our tool and see how much ping you are getting on your region. Getting low ping in your own region and getting extremely high ping in other regions is normal. If that is the case then there is something wrong with the server. But, if your ping is high across all the servers then your connection is causing the problem here. 2) If you are playing with a friend, make sure that you are both on the same region. 3) If you have any sort of server router or VPN running in the background then consider disabling it. 4) Check if you are downloading anything in the background or updating your device/any app. 5) Try giving your router a quick restart. 6) You can flush your DNS by opening CMD on Windows and typing 'ipconfig /flushdns'. 7) Check Aniimo's Twitter/Discord for any news on server outrages.

Aniimo Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Aniimo?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 60ms. Pro players typically play at under 30ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 120ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Aniimo operates at Server-Authoritative. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
