About Halo Infinite

We all know about Halo and how legendary the franchise is. Halo Infinite is the latest title from the series, developed by 343 Industries. Halo Infinite features classic arena style gameplay and also features Ranked and Team Battle modes in the side. Halo, right now, is owned by Microsoft, which means it uses Microsoft Azure servers for online gameplay.

Why Ping Matters in Halo Infinite

Halo is a FPS title which automatically means that the game is all about precise aiming. Everything depends on how fast you are able to react to situations. Therefore, low ping is extremely important in Halo Infinite, because the higher the ping the more delayed your actions will be. As a result, you will end up missing your shots. For Ranked, you should aim for ping below 40ms and for casual modes 60ms should be fine.

Optimal Network Settings

As of now Halo Infinite does not offer any server selector in-game, and connects you to the closest Microsoft Azure servers. Your best bet is to use our ping testing tool and check your ping on those servers.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Troubleshooting connections issues in Halo Infinite: 1) You need to make sure that your NAT type is either Open or Moderate. Strict NAT will cause issues. 2) You need to check the status of Xbox servers to see if they are up or not. 3) Try Forwarding Ports TCP 3074 and UDP 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500. 4) Close VPNs if you are using them.

Halo Infinite Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Halo Infinite?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 60ms. Pro players typically play at under 30ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 120ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Halo Infinite operates at 60Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
