About Battlefield 6

Backed by EA's 60Hz tick rate severs, BF6 is a massive-scale FPS Shooter that supports upto 128 players in a single match. Using next-gen technology, the game features destructible environments, a dynamic weather system, and combat featuring combined arms.

Why Ping Matters in BF6

In a game like BF6, where the overall match scale is greater than games like the COD, you don't only just shoot. You do a lot more. From handling vehicles to your hit registration to taking cover immediately after taking damage, everything is affected by your ping. Competitve players should aim for anything under 70ms, while casuals should be okay with latency under 100ms.

Optimal Network Settings

Before entering a match, always check your server picker and ensure that you are getting suitable ping. After you have entered a match, don't forget to monitor your ping using the 'Network Performance Overlay' setting in the game. Keep checking for packet loss. Matches in BF6 can sometimes go on for an extended period of time, that is why a wired connection is more reliable than WiFi in such cases. Makes sure you hve UPnP enable in your router settings.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Troubleshooting Battlefield 6 connectivity issues: 1) Use our ping tester tool to find the best servers for your connection. A low ping server can sometimes give you packet loss. In that case, choose the next best server. 2) Check EA's server status to make sure BF6 servers are up and running. 3) Disable any sort of VPN running in the background. 4) If nothing helps then open the following ports: UDP 3659, TCP 9960-9969, UDP 25200-25300. But before doing that, consider learning about port forwarding first.

BF6 Network FAQ

What is a good ping for BF6?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 70ms. Pro players typically play at under 35ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 140ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

BF6 operates at 60Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
