How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Palworld

Palworld is a survival game developed by Pocketpair set in an open-world. When the game launched it became the most popular creature-catching game in the world with around 1.7 million players playing the game everyday. Your primary job in the game is to survive by catching from a huge variety of creatures known as Pals and use them to make structures, farm raw materials, and produce food. Palworld, being such a huge title that it is, has both multiplayer servers and community-hosted servers.

Why Ping Matters in Palworld

Since Palworld mainly focuses around PvE activities like capturing Pals, building bases and machines, crafting, etc, your ping doesn't matter much for the most part. But the game does have PvP features and real-time multiplayer. Therefore, high ping can disrupt the sync that you have with your Pals. To keep everything running smoothly, try to aim below 100ms.

Optimal Network Settings

Firstly, check the which server region you are being connected to when you are joining a server in Palworld. If you are not sure which one to pick, use Palworld Ping Test tool able to figure out the server with the lowest ping.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing connection issues in Palworld: 1) When joining any community server always make sure that the server is online and is not full. The higher the number of players in a server the more will be the load on the server. 2) In case you are playing the game on an official Palworld Server then check if Xbox Game Services are up or not. 3) Make sure Windows Firewall is not blocking your connection to the Palworld servers. 4) Try restarting your router once.

Palworld Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Palworld?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 100ms. Pro players typically play at under 50ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 200ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Palworld operates at Server-based. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
