How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Specifically designed for Mobile devices, MLBB, short of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a MOBA with a 5v5 online multiplayer setup. The game works in the same way as every other MOBA out there. It has got a great roster of Heroes with each having unique abilities. Each match of MLBB is played in classic three-lane maps where your job is to reach your opponents base before they reach yours, and destroy it.

Why Ping Matters in MLBB

Mobile Legends is a MOBA, MOBAs are always PvP, and Ping is always going to matter in PvP games. In the case of MLBB, where the fate of your matches rely on fast combos from Heroes like Lancelot, Gusion, or Fanny, even a tiny bit of latency can ruin an entire match. If your timing is off due to high ping then good luck hitting your skill shots and getting eliminations. You just cannot win without having low ping in games like these. Therefore, you should aim around 50ms ping in order to have a smooth experience and avoid any sort of delay.

Optimal Network Settings

Firstly, make sure to have knowledge about the servers you get connected to often. Then use our ping test tool to check how much ping you are getting on those servers. If the tool shows that your ping to those servers is low but you are getting high ping in-game, then go to your network settings and start tweaking the settings until the ping goes back to normal.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing high ping issues in MLBB: 1) Start by giving your Wi-Fi router a quick restart, then turn off wi-fi on your device and turn it back on. 2) If you are on Mobile Data then just quickly restart your device once. 3) If you have too many apps open in the background, close them. Make sure that the App Store or Play Store is not updating apps. 4) Go to your Network Settings in MLBB and turn on Speed Mode. What this does is, it forces the game to lower your ping by consuming more data. 5) Enable Network Boost, if you have both Wi-fi and mobile data available. This setting combines both to give you the best possible outcome. 6) Make sure you are not sitting too far from the router and there aren't a ton of other devices connected to your Wi-fi.

MLBB Network FAQ

What is a good ping for MLBB?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 50ms. Pro players typically play at under 25ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 100ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

MLBB operates at 30Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
