How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Hunt: Showdown 2

Sequel to the classic extraction shooter Hunt: Showdown, Hunt: Showdown 2, developed by Crytek, is an improved version of the game. The game is set is Louisiana, the place is now infested with monsters. The game is PvPvE title, where your job is to hunt huge bosses while also dealing with other Hunters, who are trying to eliminate you and take your bounty. Hunt Showdown 2 is truly one of the most unique games out there.

Why Ping Matters in Hunt: Showdown 2

The overall pace of the sessions in Hunt: Showdown 2 can be extremely slow and tactical. You are less likely to encounter fights at the start of each game. But once you encounter a Hunter, there is a high chance that the fight will be over in a matter of seconds. One delayed movement or shot due to high ping and you are done for. You can kiss all your loot goodbye. You are bound to experience hit registry issues and delayed audio if you have high ping. And both of those are extremely important in PvP games. Try to aim for below 70ms at least.

Optimal Network Settings

The good news is Hunt: Showdown 2 does offer a server selector that allows to manually select any server you want. So use our ping test tool to figure out the servers with the lowest pings and always remember to pick those.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Troubleshooting connectivity issues in Hunt: Showdown 2: 1) Remember to manually select your servers always instead of letting the game pick one for you. Use the ping utility above to figure that out. 2) The easiest fix would be to just restart your router once. You can just unplug it and plug it back after 5 mins. 3) The Crytek servers could be facing downtime. Check. 3) Make sure you do not have any VPN enabled in the background. 4) Try to avoid downloading or updating anything while playing the game. 5) Make sure your Windows Firewall is not blocking the game.
