How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About League of Legends: Wild Rift

League of Legends: Wild Rift is game perfect for those who love MOBA games, but don't get enough time to play them on the big screens. Since Wild Rift is the official adaption of League of Legends for Mobile Device, the game has a lot of similarities with the OG game. It features the same laning phases, jungles, etc. The only difference is that the matches don't play that long. All the characters are designed from the scratch for quick 15 minute matches

Why Ping Matters in Wild Rift

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a MOBA, and despite MOBAs not being as intense as shooting games, it is still a competitive game that features PvP matches. And it has been proven again and again that ping is always going to matter wherever PvP is involved. High ping in a MOBA like Wild Rift means you will be missing your shots due to delay, failing escapes at the right time, and throwing your game is the process. In order to make sure those don't happen, your ping needs to be below 80ms at all times.

Optimal Network Settings

If you are someone who has access to both Mobile Data and Wifi then you should definitely enable the Dual-Channel Communication setting located inside the settings menu of Wild Rift.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing Lag in LoL: Wild Rift: 1) Try switching between your wifi and mobile data to see which one is working the best for you. 2) Use our realtime latency test tool to check your ping on all the servers. If they are higher than normal then you can try restarting your wifi router and your smartphone/tablet. 3) Use the 'Dual-Channel Communication' setting for best possible results. 4) Make sure you are not using any VPN or server router app.

Wild Rift Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Wild Rift?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 50ms. Pro players typically play at under 25ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 100ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Wild Rift operates at 30Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
