How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Minecraft Mobile

We all know about Minecraft and how huge the franchise is. Well, Minecraft Mobile which is also called the Bedrock Edition tries to bring the same flavour for Apple and Android devices. It is the same sandbox format, where you drop in, explore, craft, and do your best to survive alone or with friends in multiplayer servers and Realms.

Why Ping Matters in Minecraft

The thing about Minecraft is that you will always have to build. Now, building requires you to place blocks. If you have High Ping then you will have a tough time placing blocks and there will be a slight delay present constantly. On top of that, your positions and your interactions need to constantly synced on public Minecraft servers. You will also have a hard time mining blocks on High Ping, as you see them constantly reappear even after you have mined them. So. make sure to keep your ping below 100ms.

Optimal Network Settings

Just use our ping test tool to find out the servers where ping is below 100ms, and try connecting to them always. That way you will potentially eradicate a lot of connection

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

All you need to do in order to reduce ping in Minecraft Mobile is to connect your device to a good 5Ghz Wifi router and to make sure that not a lot of other devices are connected to the router. Also, make sure you lower down your graphics settings.

Minecraft Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Minecraft?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 80ms. Pro players typically play at under 40ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 160ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Minecraft operates at 20Hz (Minecraft ticks). Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
