How it works

We test round-trips (HTTPS) from your browser to AWS/Cloudflare or Game server endpoints if they're public or published by the developers. The first request is warmup, and then consecutive requests (upto 5) are used to make out an average. Browser tests usually add some latency, so in-game is usually lower.

Avg:
Avg trip time. This is what creates the ranking and how well your connection is doing.
Jitter:
How much the ping jumps across tests. Under 10 ms is smooth and acceptable.
Failed:
Requests to some servers might fail. We ignore these tests in results.
Grade:
Combined average of all tests across all mentioned servers.

About Brawl Stars

Made by Supercell, Brawl Stars is real-time mulitplayer action game for mobile devices. The game features a 3v3 setup where players can unlock a ton of Brawlers, and upgrade them the way they want. There are multiple modes available to dive into. Modes like Showdown, Gem Grab, and Brawl Ball are the most popular ones.

Why Ping Matters in Brawl Stars

Just because a game looks cartoonish doesn't mean it isn't competitive. In fact the Brawl Stars comp scene is pretty huge for a mobile game. So if you are someone who takes the game seriously then you have to have below 60ms ping for a smooth experience. High ping will lead to missed shots and delayed inputs. Not to mention, you will have a hard time dodging the shots from your opponents.

Optimal Network Settings

To make sure that you never get connection drops is to use a high-speed Wifi instead of Mobile Data. Mobile Data is never reliable when it comes to playing PvP games on mobiles. You can lose connection so easy.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Fixing connection and ping issues in Brawl Stars: 1) Start by checking if you are getting the Red Wi-Fi symbol constantly while playing the game or not. If you are, then use our ping tool to test how much ping you are getting on the closest server from your location. If it is high then give your wifi router a restart. 2) Just restarting your Mobile Device might help too.

Brawl Stars Network FAQ

What is a good ping for Brawl Stars?

If you are looking to play competitively, you should aim for under 60ms. Pro players typically play at under 30ms. Just make sure that your ping doesn't go above 120ms as it will negatively impact gameplay.

Does tick rate affect my experience?

Brawl Stars operates at 20Hz. Higher tick rates lead to more responsive hit registration. Your actions and how quickly they are registered in-game are determined by your ping and tick rate combined.

Which server region should I choose?

Use our Ping Test tool to figure out your latency with all the regions, and pick the one with the lowest.

How can I reduce my ping?

Pick a wired Ethernet connection if you can, as WiFi tend to bring a lot of connection issues. Fiber connections are better than the traditional ones. Close applications that are hogging all your bandwidth. If you are going to use a WiFi router, just make sure you have QoS enabled on it. Trying Cloudflare or Google DNS can help in a lot of cases.
